Video mashups. Pretty much rules. The Blue Ribbon Glee Club of Chicago sing indie and punk hits as if witches dancing around a bonfire howling at the moon.

IANN ROBINSON - OMG SRSLY, WTF
Former MTV VJ Iann Robinson is really into connecting things. Like, I bet he would be really good at connect four. So he wrote this essay on how black metal should converge with no wave. Um, ok. Just read it ... and the comment directly underneath it. It's kind of cute how he has all of these fat slipknot fans lining up to suck his wang.

LIL WAYNE
Yes, he's a genius; no, it's not a masterpiece
Jess Harvell on lil Wayne and Tha Carter III:
He'd developed something that's sadly hard to find in hip-hop today, among all the teenage shouters and monotone mumblers trying to sound hard: a voice that's unmistakably his own, one that conveys eeriness and ebullience with equal ease, a sound that fits the most honest fan of narcotics in modern hip-hop. And "Tha Carter II" offered the first concrete evidence of Wayne's increasingly fearsome technique as a writer, a virtuosic broadside aimed at those who'd dismissed him as a has-been or a never-was. If one of your complaints about recent hip-hop was that rappers had abandoned their poetic instincts in the rush to craft the most pop-friendly hook, here was one who dissed fellow rappers as if he were dishing out dada: "Me the disaster/ Pity the fool/ Eat a catastrophe/ Swallow the truth/ Belch reality/ How does it taste/ Pie to your face."
Despite occasionally displaying the kind of social conscience critics love, Wayne's freewheeling wordplay certainly doesn't fit the mold of hip-hop reporting made famous by Chuck D and KRS-One. His inscrutable silliness and self-satire separate him from the likes of Jay-Z, whose sense of humor is always in thrall to his swagger. His singsong phrasing and experiments with tempo and time signatures are drawn from the work of Southern rap pioneers like the Dungeon Family, the only big-selling rappers who may outdo him for cosmic weirdness. Wayne may not be the best rapper alive. But he's certainly one of the most sui generis, especially among those under 30.

CHORCHAZADE
A cult British pop group from Penzance, England. Operating from a base in St Pauls, Bristol. They performed sporadic concerts in Britain and Europe from 1977 to 1988, often supporting bands such as James, Marc Riley and the Creepers, A Certain Ratio, The Blue Aeroplanes and The Brilliant Corners. They eventually released one 12 inch single called 'aaah, you are as light as a feather' in 1985 and a vinyl album, 'made to be devoured' in 1986. John Peel played a track off the initial single but said that he 'wished the group had a simpler name, like the Moody Blues’' and never played another of the group's recordings...and that is how it was back then. Some were saved and some were drowned.
Their myspace has some songs to download. But this number below continues to be one of my favorites. I'm off to a keggerboner in Astoria. Later. Oh and I want to make out with you. With this song on repeat in my little drunk bonerville head. QUEENS!

26 DEGREES OF JULIE OCEAN
God bless.
Friendship Flower Shop turned into Julie Ocean (a song from the Undertones' third album). Inspired by Orange Juice and early Aztec Camera, Terry Banks was in St. Christopher on Sarah Records (also in The Saturday People, Tree Fort Angst and Glo-Worm with Pam Berry). He met Jim Spellman (Velocity Girls + The High Back Chairs // with Jeff Nelson who was in Minor Threat) through Peter Cortner who was the singer from Dag Nasty. (FYI, Jim Spellman was recently tased) Years later Terry met Hunter Bennet who was the bassist for Dag Nasty and spent time with post-Government Issue outfit Weatherhead. Drummer, Alex Daniels on drums was in Swiz , Severin and Sweetbelly Freakdown. Suburban Voice (Al Quint of No System) interviewed Swiz about not being on Dischord, Rites of Spring, Ignition, and Soulside. So basically, Julie Ocean straddle's D.C.'s Dischord scene and the lesser known indie-pop scene (think Tommy Keene, The Slickee Boys, Pam Barry + Slumberland Records // which was inspired by K Records which was inspired by Discord).
Julie Ocean play every 2-3 weeks with no tours insight. However, would fit to tour with Scotland's Teenage Fanclub; whose Norman Blake (BMX Bandits) is set to tour with Daniel Johnston’s band in July along with Jad Fair and John Slugget from Half Japanese, Yo La Tengo’s James McNew, Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse, and Scout Niblett. Julie Ocean's debut album, "Long Gone and Nearly There," is out now on Philadelphia-based Transit of Venus Records, distributed by Redeye, and also available via iTunes, eMusic and Amazon. The album was produced by Geoff Sanoff (Luna, Fountains of Wayne, The Secret Machines.) The next show is July 11th at the Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C.
Most of this name-dropping stuff is from an interview with Terry Banks on Aquarium Drunkard:
We’re just sort of trying to write poppy, appealing songs that get in, make their point and stop. It’s not wildly different from anything anyone in the band has done previously, but it’s come together quite easily and we have a lot of fun doing it. It’s a very stress free sort of band and it’s been sort of a breeze so far, so we hope to make another record and keep doing it for its own rewards.
But you know, scenes are funny because from the outside they might look bigger than they are. But I have this theory that local band scenes are always the same 23 people cross-pollinating over the course of a few years, whether you’re talking about Chapel Hill or Athens or Minneapolis or D.C. They’re usually pretty small and pretty insular so you get the same people pairing up in different combinations over time and occasionally a new person will come in and expand the gene pool a bit, but it never really gets bigger than a couple of dozen people, I think.
Oh, and I directly walked behind Kevin Bacon between 62nd and 70th on Madison two weeks ago. THE MOTHER FUCKER MOVES!
Fugazi: Peel Sessions + DEMO (87-88)
Yikes. When I find stuff like this, I feel so weird. Chunklet:
I'm including a few Fugazi tracks that I never ever see on-line. The first four are from Fugazi's only Peel session from '88, a handful of tracks from their "demo" tape that I got back in '87 and a live track from their first show ("Turn Off Your Guns") that has never made its way to a record.
Music mp3's are at the bottom of the post. But I'd recommend reading it in it's entirety - you know. You might learn something.
Fugazi - Waiting Room (Peel Session '88)
Fugazi - Break In (Peel Session '88)
Fugazi - Merchandise (Peel Session '88)
Fugazi - Glueman (Peel Session '88)
Fugazi - In Defense of Humans (demo '88)
Fugazi - The Word (demo '88)

THE CLANCY BROTHERS + TOMMY MAKEM
Another pick up from the li-to the-brary. Full of that nice breakup/makeup/death/success, Wiki has a full-on twenty chapter book on these lads. Oh and I just found out that Guinness only has 200 calories.
The Clancy Brothers were an Irish folk singing group, popularizing traditional Irish music in the 1960s Greenwich Village scene. Their boisterous performances set them apart, taking placid Irish classics and giving them a boost of energy and spirit. In Ireland, songs were slow, depressing songs full of melancholy. But the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem had completely transformed those songs and made them lively. Nobody had ever sung these songs with such gusto. For generations the songs had been a reminder of the troubles in Ireland and therefore they weren't anything anybody sang proudly. The Clancy Brothers changed all that, and the transformed songs reinvigorated Ireland's pride in her music.
After serving in World War II, oldest brothers Paddy and Tom emigrated from England to Toronto in 1947 on the S.S. Marine Flasher, along with 400 returning G.I. brides. In 1951, they decided to move to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. They didn't get too far, as their car broke down soon after the trip began. They decided to move to Greenwich Village instead. Little thought was given to pursuing as a singing group. They all were busy establishing theatrical careers for themselves. But requests were often demanded for the brothers to sing some of their songs at parties and informal pub settings. On March 12, 1961, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem performed for 14 groundbreaking minutes in front of a televised audience of 80 million people on The Ed Sullivan Show. After their appearance, the guys were offered a five year contract from Columbia Records with a cash advance of $100,000.
In August 2007 Tommy Makem died after an extended fight with cancer, leaving brother Liam the only surviving member of the original group.

WE'RE ALL FUCKED
George Carlin died Sunday from his 4th heart-attack. In memorandum, today I'll be wearing all black while high on pain killers and booze. Happy fucking Monday. 50 years in the business, 35 years of marriage and a life of humanitarian pique - I respect Carlin for what and how he delivered.
So get your workweak started off right and read the following quote below from his interview with the Onion...
"I look at it this way... For centuries now, man has done everything he can to destroy, defile, and interfere with nature: clear-cutting forests, strip-mining mountains, poisoning the atmosphere, over-fishing the oceans, polluting the rivers and lakes, destroying wetlands and aquifers... so when nature strikes back, and smacks him on the head and kicks him in the nuts, I enjoy that. I have absolutely no sympathy for human beings whatsoever. None. And no matter what kind of problem humans are facing, whether it's natural or man-made, I always hope it gets worse."
There is a certain amount of righteous indignation I hold for this culture, because to get back to the real root of it, to get broader about it, my opinion that is my species—and my culture in America specifically—have let me down and betrayed me. I think this species had great, great promise, with this great upper brain that we have, and I think we squandered it on God and Mammon. And I think this culture of ours has such promise, with the promise of real, true freedom, and then everyone has been shackled by ownership and possessions and acquisition and status and power.
And perhaps it's just a human weakness and an inevitable human story that these things happen. But there's disillusionment and some discontent in me about it. I don't consider myself a cynic. I think of myself as a skeptic and a realist. But I understand the word "cynic" has more than one meaning, and I see how I could be seen as cynical. "George, you're cynical." Well, you know, they say if you scratch a cynic you find a disappointed idealist. And perhaps the flame still flickers a little, you know?
And so, there's a part of me that is angry. Not in the sense of, "Gee, George is an angry guy!" I mean, anyone who's been with me five minutes, five years, whatever, they would tell you they've rarely seen me in a moment of anger. Yes, I can become highly irritated in a line that's moving slowly, or with a clerk who's incompetent. But I don't yell. I don't get rude. I am clear about what I expect. In a store, my mother always told me, "Ask for the manager immediately. It changes the tone of the conversation." [Laughs.]
So I am not a difficult man by any stretch, and I'm saying that with a full and honest inventory going on. I'm not. And I'm not angry on stage. There is a heightening. There is an intensification of the feelings on stage in order to let them carry the room. There is a theatricality about it. The whole thing is oratory, so there's persuasion involved. There's the art of rhetoric involved. And so, with hyperbole and with the desire to really punch the thing home, some of it reads a little more angry.
Now, it's true that the direction of the material changed, at least in part. Because I had always featured language stuff that was fairly simple and innocent and honest and even sweet and childlike, and other things like, "Oh, did you ever notice between your toes, you have these things." I still did all that stuff. But I began to tap into that other part of me that would've been a great protest singer. I just began to let that part of me grow and live. It was a natural thing, and it just went from one level to another. And there's a lot of that social criticism in the shows now, because what I'm really trying to say to people is, "Don't you see what the fuck you're doing here? What you've done to yourselves? Can't you see what you're letting them do to you?" I mean, that's sort of the subtext. "Aren't you aware of what the fuck is going on, you folks?" That's kind of what I'm thinking in my heart.

VICE JUNE 19TH = CRY BABIES
Anyone who RSVP'd for the VICE party tonight, probably is crying right now.
Hi there,
Thanks for RSVPing for tonight's VICE LIVE festivities at Santos Party House (and while we're doling out gratitude, thanks to our friends at Nokia NSeries for making it all possible).
This email is to confirm that we received your RSVP, and to give you a little rundown on how things will unfold tonight.
A LOT of people are planning on heading to Santos, which means the club will be packed to the gills, and many, many, many folks on the list will NOT be getting in. Including you, maybe.
Don't get us wrong, we want you there. But expect to wait in line, possibly for a long time, and there's a chance you might not get in at all. If you're one of those people who gets bummed out about such things, don't worry. There will be plenty of VICE parties this summer for you to attend.
Now you know the situation. Thanks for listening. See you tonight?
xoxo,
VICE
PS: Please do not reply to this email, no one will read it.

Eff that. At 4 o'clock there were already 50 people in line. I think I might just ride by and watch the assholes as I drink a tall can. BRO!
>Kate Bush 4:17 said it best, "this show sounds like a fucking nightmare. the Muslims are a great band and will be playing again on Saturday night @ the castle in hell. you can see Vivian girls any day of the week. hong kong blood opera look like club kids from the Bang/82 Interpol, Faint days of Hollywood Blvd. that means cheesy. blech. oh, it's possible to be broke with a job and still make it to the music hall at 1 am. hell, i plan on catching Boyz II men at 7 am tomorrow morning and still heading into work by 8:45."
Also, 3:57pm said: "Don't worry... you'll all get in. I personally rsvp'd like 400 times myself using the name "Loser" , so there will be plenty of room for everyone once the doors open."

CONVERSE ATTACKS RED HOOK
Over at converse.com you can download a song written by Pharrell Williams, N.E.R.D., Santogold and Julian Casablancas "as part of the brand's Century celebration". You can decide for yourself on this one. Majority has it - it's a bummer. I dunno. #1 Keyboard noise filler is dumb; #2 That bass line is annoying; #3 It doesn't make me want to dance. The saving grace is Santogold. Her voice is summer- no question.
But check it - I guess they are filming over at Red Hook this Wednesday. I'll be riding my bike over to watch Smokey's Roundup at Sunny's Bar ... maybe I'll care enough to snoop around the set (free stuff/food?)

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
Straight outa Bushwick - this ain't no revivalist bull crap. Sounds like James Brown, Eddie Bo, Lyn Collins, Marva Whitney, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Mahalia Jackson and The Meters in a hot tub. Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings released their third studio albumm, "100 days, 100 nights", October of 2007. The video was directed by Adam Elias Buncher using two vintage TV cameras bought on E-Bay for $50 dollars each.
And peep this: my good pal, Mike Long dancing to How Do I Let a Good Man Down. Not his best, but still relevant. Sharon Jones has played the same place that he is dancing in three times. Long live the 'tour to tour'.

COUNTING BLACK SHEEP / EVENT CALENDAR
I just tried to go to sleep and I got mega paranoid about death and shit. Yuck. No pills or drugs here, just life man, life. I think it is all the depressive black metal that I'm listening to at work.
And for some reason, this image is making me feel so at ease.
Now that I'm awake, I'll announce that I'm working on my I'm Going calendar for this summer. Mainly displaying free shows + parties and mostly to get the 'must see' days organized - google calendar, is the shit!

NO AGE COVER BAND + RANDY RANDALL = COCKPIT
I wish there was a cover Melissa. Then her and I would get together and form something called 'perfection'.
Excerpt taken from Pitchfork:
Among their many musical dabblings, Foot Village's Josh Taylor and noise DJ Kyle Mabson have found the time to form a living tribute to one of their hometown's highest profile acts: No Age. That's right, apparently there's a No Age tribute band called New No Age.
When Randy Randall from (Old) No Age caught wind of New No Age, he was so stoked, he joined the band. Eventually, the three started writing new material together. Now calling themselves Cockpit, they'll perform their ebut show tonight (June 16) at L.A.'s Pehrspace as part of Taylor and Mabson's monthlong Monday night side project showcase.

HIP HOP KARAOKE NYC
So, for father's day yesterday ... we did karaoke in the family TV room. I was trying to boost some family bonding, you know? Dad just sat and eventually walked away to chop wood or something and Mom was probably on some chat room 'omg-ing wtf ttyl' style.
Which is hilarious that I stumbled upon this just a second ago. The Knitting Factory is hosting Hip Hop Karaoke NYC. I'll be attending wearing either my freshest hip hop gear or my non-existing business woman suit. My brother and oldest sister are legit hova fans. Two people you would never pick out of a crowd to be such, but they know all of Jay-Z's songs by heart. It's a family affair, Christmas just wouldn't be the same is they didn't bust out the drunken "Money ain't a thing" lyrics.
Here are some more pictures to give you a taste:
This rules. I'm going this Friday. Give me some suggestions for a song -- I need to memorize one beforehand -- please!

Swervedriver to Pop Fest, The Muslims, Amazing Baby & Vivian Girls too
Brooklyn Vegan's Bill Pearis, just wrote a damn good article detailing some amazing events coming up that you should read. Of which, I'm super excited for The Muslim's NYC invasion this coming weekend/week.
**At the bottom of this post, I've included the bands mentioned in the article and their respective tour dates. All of which you need to know about, in order to be any sort of respectable person. You just do, ok.
" Brooklyn Vegan approached me about writing an indie rock column because I "repeatedly go to see The Young Knives and are excited about Versus reuniting." Which is to say I like unpopular bands and am, like, James Murphy old. This will likely take on more shape as the weeks go on, but for now here's a bunch of notable shows happening over the next five days. "

BLACK OUT
1. I wish my work's power went out so that I can go home.
2. Senator Barack Obama, having amassed more than the 2,118 delegates needed to secure a majority, was acknowledged as the Democratic presidential nominee and claimed victory before a crowd of almost 20,000 people in St. Paul, Minnesota, knocking knuckles with his wife, Michelle, in a gesture known as "dap." "It thrilled a lot of black folks," said author Ta-Nehisi Coates. "He wears his cultural blackness all over the place. Barack is like Black Folks 2.0."
3. Officials in Tanzania reported that witch doctors were harvesting the hair, bones, and skins of albinos to make wealth potions, and scientists who darkened the breast feathers of male barn swallows with magic marker found that the males attracted more females, lost weight, and exuded more testosterone. "It's like you walk down the street and you're driving a Rolls Royce and people notice," said lead researcher Rebecca Safran.
4. Black Star - Mos Def, Talib Kweli & DJ Hi Tek
5. Black Sheep - A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing / Thanks to Black Goat for this.

FREE NEW YORK
My sister is one year older than me. In adult years, she would be 7-11 years older. Making 3 times as much $$$ as me, dating extremely handsome / successful men, and maintaining a social life of dinner dates and red carpet events -- living with her can and is a challenge for a lady of my leisurely recreational caliber. Not to say we don't get along, we just ____ when it comes to such extracurricular activities. I like my men simply outre, my possessions modest and my night life uninhibited to the time frame of 'night'.
With that said, my first 6 months here in New York have been excessively glazed over; i.e. $expensive$. I can hate on New York about the fucked up miserable shit that occurs. But you know what, the one redeeming quality of this city is the people. Within the last week I've had some of the best conversation just while riding my bike and on the subway, without ever getting the name of who I was talking to, and without ever spending a dime. To boot, the best music I've heard here was free, dog. Forget dumb dinners with friends of dumb friends and lame overpriced clubs. Let freeeeedom ring. Amen.
For all things good and inexpensive visit:
Show Paper
My Open Bar
Favorite bar to see (free) music:
Sunny's in Redhook (Ted Baron wrote a little blurb for the New York Times on Sunny's)
Favorite place to drink a tall can in paper bag:
Bergen street, right outside the subway station
To make a contributive donation in support of my penchant for leisure:
TOO HOT FOR LIFE
Searching for some ESG videos I found Dipsetmuthafucka on youtube. Just watch. Mike Long made dance videos for an entire year and then some. Not only are his dance skills the shit but his music collection is one to be seriously respected. WORD. Since the city is too hot for life, I've been lounging the entire day watching this on autoplay. You should probably do the same. Oh, and he's accepting donations here. I gave $5. And a marriage proposal.

IT'S OFFICIAL / HEXA + BELUGA
I know I had a good night when I wake up covered with red magic marker, there is captain crunch all over the kitchen floor, my legs have growing pains, my clothes are still wet with sweat** and my hair smells like the dance floor. Its officially summer time in the city. And it's damn hot. Number one priority: chillll with good buds and cheap booze. Last night I went to a kegger birthday loft show in Chelsea. I made 232984 best friends; all of which complimented me on my amazing party ingenuity. I brought a tall can to drink out of instead of a cup - keeps the beer colder, longer, better. Shit, I just remembered that I spit beer in someone's face through my straw, so make that 232983.
Three bands played.
Weezer cover band (really, how could you go wrong here?), Beluga (you and your best friends just started a band and sing I don't care dance punk rock songs about girls and boys you don't like / more of a dreamy Be your own pet), Hexa (two words: bubble machine). I wish Hexa's live performance would translate well over the internet - but it just doesn't deliver the 'juice' that is the stage. Their myspace and website are silly cute - acting more of an aesthete not really representing how they sound. Their live stuff has this amazing fuzzy ballad ska twee as fuck thing going on ... every time I see them, I have as much fun as I am drinking. No wait, I drink as much as I am having fun. Whatever.
**If there was a sweat tshirt contest, I would've won last night. Cool.

Ellas McDaniel 1928-2008
Bo Diddley is dead. The ever reverent Ted Baron at Boogie Woogie Flu blogged a musical corral of Bo at his very best.
Also, The Hound reminisces ...
1) I was bike messengering in the early 80's and had some time to kill so I stopped into Show World @ 8th & 42nd to take in the quarter movies and get out of the cold. Who should be checking out at the counter but Bo Diddley in a long leather overcoat and cowboy hat. He's got a big bag of video's and I say: "Bo Diddley!, whatcha buyin' Bo"? He pulls the top video out of the bag and shows me Maximum Perversion Vol. 23. Pix of midgets, women w/snakes, etc. all over it. He's got a huge grin on his face.
2) Backstage at Madison Square Garden for some oldies show and there's Bo at the catering table. He gets a huge piece of apple pie and sits down, but before he eats it he butters both top and bottom w/about a quarter inch of butter, then picks it up and swallows it in two bites.
3) In 1985 we went down to Camden, N.J. to see Bo w/the Ben Vaughn Combo backing him up (they were perfect, Bo hated them) so I brought my copy of Go Bo Diddley to get signed. While I was getting it signed Ben asked Bo about the verse in "Who Do You Love" about the ice wagon and what it meant. Bo replied that Leonard Chess made him change the lyric from the original verse he brought in, which was:
"the night was black
the sky was blue
around the corner
a shit wagon flew
a bump was hit
a scream was heard
someone got hit with a flying turd"

CHUCK BERRY
I think I captured the romance quite well in this drawing, you know it.
Chuck Berry knows June 7th all too well. In 1957 two of his singles were released on competing record labels in the U.K. “Roll Over Beethoven” was put out by London Records and “School Day” was issued on the Columbia label. A cover of Berry’s, “Come On” by The Rolling Stones became their debut single this week in 1963. And in the same week in 1979, Berry played at the White House, and was also charged with income tax evasion going back to 1973. He was sentenced to five months in jail. Go Chuck.
Speaking of dissent, one curious Chuck Berry contributive musical byproduct was that of the anti-Chuck Berry. The tremendous rock n roll abuse 'post-pink floyd' governed an entire Berry-phobia musical decade. Punk's failed attempt to overthrow was limited by its regurgitation of conventional Johnny B. Goode rock. Chuck Berry was THE negative-touchstone for seeking radical content within postpunk's rock overhaul. Radical form via radical content.
More importantly though -- Uncle Sam, WHERE'S MY $600 CHECK??

No New York
"I hate art. It makes me sick. SoHo should be blown off the fucking map, along with its arsty assholes." - James Chance
As the Weimar republic was to the Bauhaus movement, downtown New York existed in the Pre-AIDS and pre-Reaganism drug induced anti-art / art fuck heave known as No Wave. In 1978, a five day New York music festival took place climaxing with two double-bills: DNA and Contortions on Friday, and Mars and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks on Saturday. Brian Eno attended. Having only intended on spending 3 weeks in the city, he stayed for another seven months in order to document this fleeting experimental scene. "It turned out that I happened to be in New York during one of the most exciting months of the decade." Eno's naive conceptual sophistication combined with the "I'd rather drink razor blades" patricidal antics, No New York was a controversial compilation. Milking the radical peripheral with sound-board effects, No New York limited the scope as well as the lineup of the no wave music scene. AND it goes down as the single definitive album documenting the late 1970s New York No Wave scene.
Put on some headphones.

Vicky Moscholiou
Viky Moscholiou, 1943 - 2005
As a nationalistic gesture, my boss gave me this CD after catching me listening to Emperor. Embarrassing the both of us -- I swear it improves my work performance, swear -- he's been on a bender to 'improve' my musical tastes.
Think Bebel Gilberto, Edith Piaf and feta cheese -- Vicky Moscholiou is possibly Greek's most popular female singers. I couldn't find much information about her. Married a star soccer player; had two kids; got divorced; worked with some Greek composers I've never heard of nor can I pronounce their names. However, I do know that she put her mark on an entire musical era and still lives alive in the hearts of many lovably pertinacious Greeks... my boss.
Her sound is 60s smooth but in that weird Greek gypsy way. When you listen, just think of sailing along under the velvety blue skies with the wind as your blithe guide as you cruise smoothly through the deep open trident waters. Oh, and you probably have greek gods/goddesses passionately rubbing you down with some olive oil.
